Year 11 NCEA Health Education
This subject focuses on learning skills and strategies to enhance wellbeing and to support the wellbeing of others.听
In Term 1 students develop and practise interpersonal skills such as listening, assertiveness and a variety of problem solving skills.听
In Term 2 they learn about strategies to cope with change and how to promote positive values toward sexuality.听
Term 3 includes looking at adolescent eating patterns and making healthy recommendations followed by making health enhancing choices in relation to drug use.听
Students then have an opportunity to apply all the skills that they had learnt to a personal health enhancing 听goal before implementing a plan to achieve this goal over a month long period.听
